About Attorney Lucas Ruffing

I’m a lifelong Central Ohio resident. I grew up in Delaware and went to Delaware Hayes High School. I played football, basketball, tennis, and track & field for Hayes.

I attended college at The Ohio State University where I studied accounting at the Fisher College of Business. I graduated Cum Laude from business school, and went directly to The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law.

After graduating law school, I passed the Ohio Bar Exam to become legally licensed to practice law in the State of Ohio. Since passing the bar, I have helped defend consumers in a number of cases in which the consumer, like you and me, was getting bullied by a large company. I have handled dozens of criminal cases, including a jury trial.

From 2014-2017, I was an attorney at a large bankruptcy law firm in downtown Columbus, Ohio. In January, 2017 I started my own law practice, Lucas Ruffing Law, at which I strive to educate Ohioans about the benefits available under the Federal Bankruptcy Code. I aim to make the bankruptcy process as quick and easy as possible for all my clients. To that end, since I started my own practice in 2017, I have gone to my clients’ houses if they can’t make it to the office; I am more than happy to travel to my clients if that’s what they need.

I have helped thousands of Ohioans file for the bankruptcy benefits available under Chapter 7 and Chapter 13. I have attended more than 3,000 court hearings at the side of debtors.

Recreationally, I enjoy anything competitive, attending the many festivals around Ohio, and spending time with my family.
