CoronaVirus Protocols = Bankruptcy Hearings by TELEPHONE!
Now is a fantastic, and unique time to take advantage of the Bankruptcy Code, and get rid of your debts.
Because of the on-going COVID-19 protocols, there are no in-person hearings for the typical bankruptcy case; both chapter 7 and chapter 13.
In normal times, every chapter 7 and chapter 13 bankruptcy case has at least 1 in-person court hearing in the Columbus bankruptcy court building (170 N. High St., Columbus, OH 43215). This hearing is also known as the “341 hearing” or the “meeting of creditors.” This means driving into the heart of Columbus, battling traffic, looking for parking, and walking through security into court.
Now, however, out of caution for the Coronavirus (COVID-19), these standard bankruptcy hearings are being held by CONFERENCE TELEPHONE CALLS! That means that for the typical bankruptcy case filed right now, you don’t have to step foot inside a courthouse - not even once! You don’t have to drive down into Columbus! You may not even have to take time off work!
Thus, NOW is a fantastic, and unique time to take advantage of the Bankruptcy Code, and get rid of your debts.
